"The Vision of the Dry Bones" is a prophetic vision found in the Book of Ezekiel, in which the prophet witnesses the resurrection of the dead from a valley filled with bones before him. These bones are revealed as they gradually take on flesh and sinews, returning to life. Throughout Jewish history, this vision has been interpreted in diverse ways, ranging from a literal prophecy foretelling a future event to entirely allegorical readings that view it as a symbolic parable.
Its vivid imagery and macabre yet hopeful content have sparked the imagination of many since it was written, and its enigmatic nature has allowed for creative and contemporary interpretations throughout the ages. In the exhibition, the vision unfolds before our eyes, pointing to the magical and animistic possibilities hidden within the remnants of life and the natural world of which we are a part.
