To Become a Mountain

A wrinkle in the earth, where there's an opening into the core, the heart, the inside, the deep, the hidden, the dark, the inner darkness, the guts.
Places where the mantle layer is so thin that it allows the inside, the soft and molten core of the earth, to burst out.
And this inside cannot withstand the conditions of the outside; it erupts, it is pushed out (in bursts, perhaps of anger), it rages, it melts, it is thrown out and immediately cools and hardens, becoming a basaltic memory of the thick contents of the depths.
The threshold, the brief glimpse, 
a peak, an opening, a pulsing pit, blazing, a thin blanket of earth, seeping, fearsome lava, extreme heat, melting, congealing, the liquid, the solid, the hidden, the revealed, the sacred, the profane, and the veil of smoke between them.
